Housing-Rights Movement Has the Real-Estate Industry Running Scared

From California to Illinois to New York to Washington; organized tenants are standing up and fighting for their homes and their communities.  Their work was featured in a great article in the Nation this month.  We’re proud to work with many of the groups highlighted, including the Homes for All Alliance, Washington CAN, ACCE and so many more.

“Ultimately, however, these fights are about more than universal rent control. They are about the ownership structure of this country’s housing market.

“We have to build a base of tenants, a movement,” says Anthony Romano of Homes for All. “And no movement is going to be strong unless it is rooted in democratic, participatory tenant unions.”
