“It just feels, Ben, like you’re kinda blaming poor people for being poor.”
Whoopi Goldberg, spurred by Secretary Carson’s latest round of unsettling comments while touring low-income housing last week, took to The View to sound off.
According to Secretary Carson, compassion means not giving people “a comfortable setting that would make somebody want to say: ‘I’ll just stay here. They will take care of me.”
Golberg, who once lived in a government-subsidized housing project, was not having it.
“You think poor people wanna stay in the housing, because I gotta tell you, all I could think of was how to get the hell out of there,” she said.
